Hi, I’m Michael Ekegren, and I founded TheDawgPack™ because of my deep love for dogs and a passion for making a real difference for rescue pups. My journey began in 2009 with our first rescue pup, a cattle dog named Dude. She was kind, charismatic, and a world-class athlete, and during 10 years in Colorado, we climbed countless mountains together. Always side-by-side. Watching her thrive in her forever home opened my eyes to the power of rescue and second chances—a call to action that inspired this mission.

Today, Kona and Kai continue to fuel our passion. Kona is the heart of the pack—kind, loving, and endlessly sweet. Kai, with his boundless energy and chatter, keeps us laughing and reminds us why we started.
